Vacuum regularly. Rotate your rug by 180 degrees every six months to even out wear. Treat stains quickly working from the outside in, to prevent stains getting larger. Soak up liquids with kitchen roll or a clean towel. Clean the area of the stain by dabbing it using a sponge soaked in warm water with a little detergent, but don't scrub too hard. If you cannot remove the stain yourself seek help from a professional cleaning company.
