Decked with ribbons, presents, fruit and flowers: pretty cards to send your warmest wishes. Reproducing a colourful, stylised design by Lesley Anne Ivory from 1969. Echoing the old Irish custom of decorating wishing trees - or the May bough - where hawthorn is festooned with ribbons, egg shells and trinkets to seek a blessing from fairy folk or the Saints to bring luck to your community through the year. Traditionally decorated on May Day, the first day of Summer, the colourful streamers are known as ‘clotties’. The cards have an intricate cut-out shape around two sides to highlight the leaves and decorated branches. Sure to bestow kind thoughts and happiness.
