Description
Joyful and vibrant: a fun clutch of Easter cards reproducing a colourful design from 1963 by British illustrator Esme Eve (1920-2001). A popular illustrator of children’s books and greetings cards in the 1940s-60s, Esme Eve’s designs are delightfully expressive; her fun characters deftly created with a few strokes of colourful paint. These chicks are dressed to the nines with spectacular bonnets - perfect for joining the annual Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival which makes a colourful sight in Manhattan each Easter Sunday. Since the 1880s, this fun festival has spilled onto 49th to 57th Streets and is the place to see and be seen.
