Mankolam Scarf

Code: 50750
Soft printed rayon scarf scattered with multicolour prints of the ancient 'Paisley pattern' motif. The tear-drop motif typical of Paisley patterns is considered to have a Persian origin, in the Sassanid pattern 'boteh jegheh'. Some historians believe it represents a cypress tree that has been bent by the wind, a metaphor for yielding to Allah's divine purpose and symbolising eternity. The motif is also said to derive from a Tamil and ancient Indian symbol called a 'Mankolam'. Today associated with Lord Ganesh, and thought to look like a mango, Hindus believe it represents auspicious prosperity. Colours will vary.

Rayon.
180 x 78cm plus knotted fringe to two ends.
Hand wash.

Unlike many of your previous reviews, this was not a free gift! The description says ''colours may vary'' but what I got was not the scarf displayed by the model. What I got was a scarf made up of the close-up swatch picture which is nothing like the scarf advertised.
This was brought to your attention I now see in a review back in October 2016 and yet you are still showing a picture of scarf that you don''t have. Not impressed.

This was a free gift and my wife loves it, matches a lot of her cloths.

Nice, soft scarf, a good gift

It came free with the rug but I have worn it almost every day since. A lovely bonus.
